Cookbook of the Month

A New Napa Cuisine is one of my favorite books of now and such an inspiration to me.  From the pictures to the recipes to philosophies behind Chefs Kostows’ cooking this book revels an intimacy with nature and the region unlike anything else. Pic

Reading Chef Kostows’ reasons behind dishes gives me inspiration and shows me how to use the earth around me.  I am from California and love the Napa Valley.  This takes you through the valley and through the fields that make it all while putting dishes together that are so incredible.  Every time I flip through the pages I find something new I have not yet seen or discovered.  Chef Kostow takes the time to share his thoughts about his dishes from the seasons to the man who creates his china.

I once got to listen to Christopher Kostow speak at a conference in Napa and I was amazed by his thinking and how he conceptually brought a dish together.  I learned a lot about food, cuisine, and myself that day. I will never forget it and forever hold onto this book.
